Free Play Group Coaching

This is our most low stress group.  We get together in groups of around 5-8 people plus the clinician for about 90 minutes, everyone plays their own game separately, and we work on our topic and support each other.  It’s like a peer support group or process group, just with light distractions being encouraged.  We get to know each other, we are there for the ups and downs,  we celebrate our member’s successes, and help them through the hard times.

In some of our groups, teens work on academic performance and brainstorm projects and difficult social situations.

Our men’s group likes to play old games and talk about being husbands and fathers.

The games serve as a relaxing and friendly setting, letting our members feel less pressure.  Things feel less awkward, less stressful, but also allow more openness.  The topics tend to be focues more on what the group has in common

The groups are usually voice chat only, and stick to first names only.  It has been our experience that the first name rule allows people to be more open and honest with themselves and the group.
